Ultrasound gel is intended as a contact agent for the external use of ultrasound devices and can be used in therapeutic and diagnostic medicine.
Apply the product directly to the skin. The quantity required depends on the size of the skin area. Small quantities are sufficient to achieve excellent continuous transmission of ultrasound waves. Ultrasound gel is a water-based product, which means only minimum contact pressure is required to maintain contact of the ultrasound head. After the examination has been completed, the gel can be simply be wiped off using paper towels.
The ultrasound gel has a high viscosity and does not drip, wets the skin well and allows correct acoustic transmission. Suitable for the broad frequency ranges used in modern medical ultrasound procedures. The acoustic parameters have been checked by an independent laboratory.
The gel offers maximum penetration depth and minimum self-reflection because it is produced in a vacuum and is free of micro-bubbles.
Following dermatological tests, the gel has been classified as uncritical in terms of skin irritation potential. The concentration of preservatives has been reduced to a minimum by testing sufficient preservation, and the preservative used is free of formaldehyde.
The product is water-based, grease-free and pH balanced.
All packaging is made of recyclable polyethylene or corrugated cardboard, which can be reused in a multitude of ways. The bottles used (250 ml, 500 ml and 1 litre) can easily be refilled from the storage containers (5 litre or 10 litre canister and cubitainer).
The product has been tested for sufficient preservation to check the product life after the packaging has been opened. The product ultrasound gel has sufficient bactericide and fungicide effect in the sense or Pharm. Eur. 12 months after the packaging has been opened.
We recommend using the product within 6 months after opening.
